GAS LAMP CONVERSION
Gas on Gas off 12V Electric

BENEFITS

1. Much SAFER to operate than a traditional gas fueled lamps.
2. Much CHEAPER to keep in use dusk to dawn. No more 24-7
3. No need to re-light the mantles if they blow out.
4. It won't stay on 24 hours a day like gas lamps do.
5. Much EASIER to replace a light bulb than to replace a lantern mantle.
6. 12 volt light bulbs are cheaper than lantern mantles, and easier to find in stores.
7. You can CUSTOMIZE your lighting style by using different colors if you like.
8. Low Voltage,
NO CITY PERMITS REQUIRED!

COST COMPARISON

A typical gas light has 2 mantles and operates continuously throughout the year. A low voltage lamp configuration can save you money on your gas bill, and hardly uses any electricity. Below you will see a breakdown of typical operating costs. The average natural gas cost listed below was based on Arizona gas prices for a 12 month period recorded from 2009:

Here you see the average annual cost to operate a gas lamp. Now compare that to what it costs to operate the same lamp, converted to low voltage electricity. The kilowatt-hour price listed below was based on an Arizona average for 2009 (Source: US Energy Information Administration)

Lamps

Other manufacturers use plastic for the “T” bar parts - NOT US! Soldered light bulb center pins are prone to problems like overheating, which causes early lamp failure. Loose contacts and corrosion will lead to replacement of the entire “T” bar. This was the main reason why we started using gaslight conversion “T” bars.

The “T” bar is made of 100% copper, and all connected parts are soldered by hand. The lamp holders are made of brass, and the center contact for the lamp is a ceramic insulator with a brass center contact. Dimensions are 10" tall by 4" wide. All parts are non-corrosive.

The transformer we are using is a UL listed resettable transformer. It is permanently sealed, and contains a resettable fusible link which when overloaded will protect against melting by opening the link inside. Once the unit has cooled for some time (varies, typically 10-30 minutes) it will then auto reset itself and will once again be usable. A green LED indicator light located on top of the unit displays whenever the unit is operational. If your transformer trips often, this could be a sign that you have a short somewhere in the wiring.

The lamps used in the "T" bar are standard, 17 watt automotive light bulbs which can be purchased at any local hardware or auto part store.

The photocell is a sealed resistor which senses light intensity - it operates as a "dusk-to-dawn" switch, controlling the power going to the lamps. This is a solid state device which is very durable.

The Landscape Cable that we use is 12 gage direct burial cable, which is designed to be used for outdoor low voltage electrical applications. It can be buried a few inches below the ground to hide it and protect against the elements and from damage, and can easily and affordably be replaced should damage or a short of some kind occur.

We offer up to 100 feet of cable, any longer the price is
$2.67 per foot.

ONE (1) YEAR REPLACEMENT WARRANTY
